What documents do I need to prepare my taxes?
Here’s what you need:
• Your personal info – Valid ID and Social Security cards for you and anyone you’re claiming. Birth certificates for dependents.
• Proof your dependents lived with you – School records, medical records, etc. showing your address.
• All income documents for this year – W-2s, 1099s, unemployment, Social Security, etc.
• If you’re a business owner or gig worker – Bring all income and all expenses with proof (receipts, mileage logs, etc.).

How long does it take to receive my tax refund?
Once your return is filed and accepted, the IRS has up to 21 business days to process it. Most refunds are issued within that timeframe, especially when you e-file and choose direct deposit.
Remember, that is up to 21 business days and does not include weekends or holidays, and the timing starts after the IRS accepts your return.
